All of our stylists speak Spanish, most also speak English. Even if you do not speak Spanish, there is always someone on schedule who is able to help translate.

Tipping is at your discretion! And if you’ve been shampooed — and especially if you enjoyed the complimentary scalp massage — it’s nice to tip the assistant as well. Tips in cash are always appreciated, but credit card tipping is welcome too.

This depends on what type of look you are going for, and what your starting phase looks like. If you are interested in only doing the balayage, and not changing your base color, you can expect this service from application to styling to last about 4-5 hours. Things that would shorten the length of this service are doing a partial balayage, having shorter hair, working with virgin unprocessed hair. Things that would lengthen this service are having very long and thick hair, wanting a lot of blonding, or your desired look being a very different change from your starting point to where it is considered a corrective service.

If you are scheduled for a Magic Sleek® service, we typically ask you to be prepared to be here for about 4 hours. Again, the length of your hair would change this timing. With MagicSleek keratin service you leave the salon ready, and do not have to return 3 days later to finish the process.

Magic Sleek® lasts anywhere from 4-8 months. You can achieve a longer lasting result by using the maintenance shampoo and conditioner. Regardless of what you use at home, it is recommended to wash your hair with cooler water, and sulfate free, paraben free products.

A Balayage is a hair coloring technique that involves hand-painting or sweeping hair color onto the hair to create natural-looking, sun-kissed highlights.

A Foilyage is achieving the results of a balayage but incorporating foils into the application.

Highlights are coloring technique where lighter strands or sections of hair are added to create contrast and dimension. They can be applied to natural or previously colored hair, and they are typically lighter than the base color.

Blonding refers to the hair coloring process that aims to achieve various shades of blonde hair. It encompasses a range of techniques and services designed to lighten the hair and create different blonde tones, from subtle highlights to all-over blonde color. This can range from a few babylights or adding in a money piece or a skunk stripe, to a color removal for a fantasy or vibrant color.

A platinum card refers to a blonding technique where every strand of hair on your head is lightened to a level 10 (the lightest level), and then toned to remove any warm or underlying pigments. This can only be priced and scheduled after a consultation.

A detox is recommended every 1-3 months depending on your hair texture and your daily styling routine. If you feel like your hair has accumulated build up, it’s time for a detox. If you are a curl enthusiast and you feel like your hair is not curling the same, it’s time to do a detox. If you are about to do a major color change, it’s recommended to do a detox to thoroughly clean your hair before the color process.

Our scalp detox is done with 100% organic lava clay. It’s used to treat scalp build up, dry scalp, dandruff, and oily hair. If you are working with your styling to undergo a treatment for a specific problem, she will indicate the frequency necessary. If you are doing a scalp detox because you want to treat yourself to extra luxurious hair services, it would be recommended every two weeks.

We offer conventional colors which are a cutting-edge formula enriched with hyaluronic acid and without PPD**, ensuring maximum color perfection while respecting the skin and hair. Wel also offer low tox colors free from Ammonia, MEA (ethanolamine), PPD**, Alcohol and Silicones.** Paraphenylendiamine, a dye widely used in hair colorants.

Depending on what your sensory modulation is, we recommend coming in Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays when there is less traffic than on Fridays and Saturdays. If you have auditory or visual hypersensitivity, we really recommend you to come in on Mondays because we have the least amount of stylists on schedule that day, so by default there is less movement and less noise. If you have an under-responsive tactile modulation, please let us know so we can express your needs to your stylist or the assistant washing your hair. If you need more individual hair services, please call us with enough time in advance so we can prepare a travel contract to accommodate your needs.

We understand if you are following a specific hair care regimen and you do not want to stray, it is okay to bring your own shampoos, conditioners, and masks. We also understand if you are set on a specific color and you want to provide it yourself, however the color application is an added fee, and we do not guarantee the result, nor do we provide fix ups for colors that are not ours.

A corrective color service is necessary when you desire a drastic change on the color spectrum. For example starting with a copper balayage and wanting a platinum all over color requires not only the blonding, but also neutralizing the copper color, as well as the underlying warmth that is visible when lifting your hair. Another example is if you are platinum blonde but did not keep up with the touch up appointments and your roots have grown beyond the two inch recommended maximum. The extra length causes a visible line between the old and new blonde. To avoid this, stylists have to not only apply lightener in two sessions to control and even out the lift, but depending on how your hair lifts, it is also possible to need various toners.

Perms are priced per consultation. During this consultation we also inquire what type of curl pattern you’d like. We use Hippie Buddha perm solution, it has a neutral odor, and leaves your hair silkier than other perm brands we’ve tried.

Deep conditioning: These target a variety of hair needs, from reconstruction to needing a boost of shine, in a quick 10 minutes under the dryer. After rinsing you move on to styling.

Celulla Madre: Alfaparf milano’s first ampoule treatment of its kind made of Argan stem cells. Mixed with multipliers to meet the specific needs of the hair. In one session you will see your hair fiber completely transform before your eyes. You can expect this treatment to add an additional 35-45 minutes if it is your first application, because it’s preceded with a mud detox mask to purify your hair of any build up. If it’s a recurring application the celulla madre will add an additional 25-35 minutes to your appointment.

We have a variety of scalp treatments. One of our favorite ways to treat scalp flakes or dry scalp are with our moroccan lava clay. It is both organic and customizable to your specific needs. We can also help analyze your scalp and help you determine if your issue extends into the scope of a dermatologist.

We filter all of our water at Salon La Vibe. Unfiltered water can lead to scalp and hair buildup, it can change the tone of your hair color (blondes, I'm talking to you!), and it can even change your hair 's texture.

Yes! We have years of experience working with all hair textures. More recently, we began offering curly haircuts and curly education so our clients can treat their curls at home.

A quiet appointment is when you come in and would like to not engage or speak with anyone during your visit. When you check-in for your appointment, tell our receptionist you would like a quiet appointment, The only engagement necessary is to consult on your hair services for that day, which is done when you come in, aside from that you are free to enjoy your quiet.

Please be aware that a quiet appointment does not mean the whole salon is quiet -- it just means you do not want to be spoken to. For a quieter salon, please read the question about sensory modulation.
